Laboratory Project Manager
SimplexDNA recruiting for a Laboratory Project Manager 80-100%
Key responsibilities:
Independently leading and managing customer projects from sampling design to laboratory analysis and project delivery
Data analysis after bioinformatic processing steps and report writing
Shape and improve the development of our molecular laboratory workflow (SOPs, accreditations)
Equipment and inventory management: ordering supplies for the laboratory and keeping inventory of consumables and machinery
Enforcing lab safety protocols and ensuring proper disposal and handling of chemicals
Upholding health and safety protocols and handling security documents
Supporting research and innovation for new products
Additional responsibilities:
Update and maintain our contacts, accounts, and projects database
Maintain records of project activities, client interactions, and other relevant information, ensuring thorough documentation for future reference
Ensuring feedback from the market and client side is broadcasted and considered internally for the development and implementation of services
Oversee and manage the execution and successful completion of projects. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Manage expectations and ongoing customer satisfaction
Use contacts and network to seek and cultivate new leads, potential clients, and strategic partners in alignment with our mission and business objectives
Attend relevant (virtual) industry conferences and events
Opportunities to shape the future offerings of the company through R&D
Qualifications:
Startup mindset - cope with working under uncertainty, external pressure, changing priorities, and shifting timelines
Background in terrestrial microbiology with experience in molecular lab work, eDNA, or relevant fields is a bonus
Knowledge in setting up and maintaining accreditation standards
Must have a strong technical background in NGS and qPCR lab work and data analysis
Position is not remote and one must be able to work in greater Zurich area
Proven experience working with large amounts of samples and big datasets
Strong organizational skills, experience in accurate recording of experimental data and test results
Experience with LIMS, programs for automatic and sequence alignment (e.g. MEGA, Geneious), R, Google Suite, and database systems
Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and alignment with our guidelines
